LWCC Fun Run

The Lake Wylie Children’s Charity Boat Fun Run will bring boaters together Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, for an afternoon of cruising, waterfront stops and fundraising on Lake Wylie in South Carolina.
The annual pleasure-boating event will begin and end at Papa Doc’s Shore Club, with the first boat scheduled to head out at noon. Participants will spend the afternoon traveling around Lake Wylie and visiting waterfront locations before returning to Papa Doc’s with their completed hands.
Boaters can preregister Friday, Aug. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anchor Bar at Papa Doc’s. Same-day registration will be available Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., also at the Anchor Bar.
The 2026 route features six stops around Lake Wylie: Papa Doc’s, Joyner’s Marina, Morningstar Marina at Drift, Red Fez, Pier 88 at River Hills Marina and Haven’s House. Participants can make their way around the lake at their own pace while collecting what they need to complete their hands.
The final card must be drawn by 4 p.m., and completed hands must be turned in at Papa Doc’s no later than 4:30 p.m. Winners will be announced beginning at 5 p.m., including awards for the best and worst hands along with the event’s 50/50 drawing and raffle prizes.
The Boat Fun Run benefits Lake Wylie Children’s Charity, a volunteer-driven nonprofit that provides year-round assistance to local children and families facing life-threatening illnesses and other serious medical challenges. The organization began serving the Lake Wylie community in 2003 and has grown to include more than 100 volunteers and supporters throughout the region.
The LWCC Boat Fun Run is organized as a recreational boating fundraiser rather than a race. Boat speed does not determine the results, allowing crews to cruise Lake Wylie, visit the participating waterfront destinations and spend the afternoon supporting families throughout the local community.
