Jackson Lake Poker Run

The Jackson Lake Association Poker Run is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, on Jackson Lake, continuing a Father’s Day weekend tradition that has become one of the lake’s most popular annual boating events. Organized by the Jackson Lake Association, the poker run combines recreational boating, waterfront social stops, charity fundraising, and family-friendly lake activities throughout the Jackson Lake region.

Branded as the JLA “Play It Safe on the Water” Poker Run, the event encourages participants to spend the day cruising the lake while collecting poker cards from sponsored docks located throughout the waterway. The 2026 event will begin with registration packet pickup between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at both Lakeview Marine and Reasor’s Landing. Participants must register online in advance and present identification or registration confirmation when arriving to collect their wristbands and poker run materials.

From 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., participants will travel by boat to six different sponsored docks around the lake to collect poker cards. Organizers stated that all cards remain sealed inside numbered envelopes during the event and must match each participant’s wristband number to remain eligible during final scoring. Sponsored poker run stops for 2026 include support from Wally Cawthon – Lake Homes Realty, Advanced Security and Fire, Stephens Construction, Mary Kay-Beth English, Whitaker’s Building Supply, and J&J Custom Homes.

The event concludes later in the afternoon at Lloyd Shoals Park near the Georgia Power Dam, where participants anchor boats in designated areas before being transported by shuttle boats to the official check-in and awards area. Organizers noted that poker hands are officially opened during check-in while additional raffle prizes, giveaways, and included meals are distributed throughout the closing festivities. Winners are expected to be announced beginning around 6:00 p.m.

Registration pricing for the 2026 Jackson Lake Association Poker Run is listed at $45 per hand, with extra cards available for $5 each and a maximum of three additional cards per participant. JLA members receive one free bonus card per household, while participants who registered before May 9 also qualified for an additional free card and entry into a sponsored giveaway drawing. A 50/50 raffle sponsored by Cronic Automotive will also return for the 2026 event.

Proceeds from the annual poker run benefit several nonprofit and community organizations around Jackson Lake, including the Jasper County Community Food Bank, Greater Butts County Lions Club, scholarship funds for local students, and water quality initiatives throughout the region. Organizers say the event would not be possible without support from numerous local sponsors, marinas, volunteers, and public safety partners throughout the lake community.
