Glenn Shoals Lake Club Aqua Run

The Glenn Shoals Lake Club Aqua Run is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026, on Glenn Shoals Lake, continuing one of Central Illinois’ fastest-growing grassroots boating events.
Organized by the Glenn Shoals Lake Club, the annual Aqua Run combines poker-run-style boating, lake cruising, waterfront gatherings, and community fundraising throughout the summer boating season.
According to official Hillsboro City Council meeting records, the 2026 Aqua Run received formal city approval as part of the Glenn Shoals Lake Club’s annual event schedule alongside additional summer lake activities planned throughout the season. Organizers confirmed the Aqua Run will run from approximately 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25.
The event operates similarly to a relaxed poker run, where participants travel by boat between designated checkpoints around the lake collecting cards and participating in waterfront social stops.
Earlier event announcements indicated registration and check-in activities traditionally begin around 10:00 a.m. at the South Marina area before the official Aqua Run launch begins around noon.
The Glenn Shoals Lake Club continues positioning the Aqua Run as a family-friendly boating event welcoming pontoons, fishing boats, deck boats, wake boats, cruisers, and recreational lake boats from throughout Central Illinois and surrounding communities.
Located near Hillsboro, Glenn Shoals Lake has become an increasingly active recreational boating destination during the summer months, hosting fishing tournaments, lake celebrations, kayak races, and boating events throughout the season.
Organizers are expected to release additional registration details, route information, and checkpoint announcements through the Glenn Shoals Lake Club Facebook group and local event channels as the July 2026 event date approaches.
