End of Summer Poker Run

The End of Summer Boat Parade Water Poker Run is set to close out the Louisiana boating season in a big way on Saturday, August 1, 2026, as boaters gather in Mermentau for a full day of cruising, cards, music, and fundraising on the water. Benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the community-focused poker run will combine a laid-back boat parade atmosphere with charity fundraising and family-friendly summer fun.
The event will launch from the Mermentau Boat Landing, with registration beginning at 8:00 AM before participating boats depart at 9:00 AM for a day of boating across local waterways. Organizers are encouraging boaters of all kinds to participate, creating an event atmosphere focused less on speed and competition and more on community, lake life, and supporting a meaningful cause.
Participants will travel to multiple poker run stops throughout the day, collecting playing cards at each location in hopes of building the best poker hand by the end of the run. Organizers will award prizes for first place, second place, third place, and even the worst hand, helping keep the event fun and accessible for casual participants and experienced poker run veterans alike.
Registration fees are set at $20 per boat and driver, with an additional $15 fee for riders. All proceeds from the event will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its mission to provide treatment and support for children battling serious illnesses.
While the event is open to all ages, organizers note that participants must be at least 21 years old to officially participate in the poker hand portion of the event. However, younger attendees can still enjoy the day on the water, and parents or other adults may play poker hands on behalf of participants under 21.
In addition to the boating activities, the event is expected to feature music, giveaways, prizes, and additional entertainment throughout the day as organizers continue finalizing stop locations and participating venues. Official poker run stops are expected to be announced closer to the event date through the event’s Facebook page and organizer updates.
The End of Summer Boat Parade Water Poker Run is also partnering with Paulette's Pals, further expanding the event’s charitable impact within the local community.
With Louisiana summer still in full swing, the August event is shaping up to become a fun and affordable way for local boaters, families, and visitors to spend a day on the water while supporting an important cause. From pontoons and fishing boats to center consoles and deck boats, organizers are inviting everyone to join the parade, make waves, and help raise money for St. Jude.
