Eagle Mountain Lake Tie-Up

The annual Eagle Mountain Lake Tie-Up is expected to return on Saturday, August 15, 2026, continuing one of North Texas’ largest and longest-running summer boating gatherings. Held inside the well-known Party Cove area on Eagle Mountain Lake, the massive raft-up tradition regularly attracts hundreds of boats and thousands of boaters for a full day of floating parties, tied-off boats, swimming, music, and lake activity.

Unlike a traditional poker run or organized speed event, the Eagle Mountain Tie-Up operates as a large-scale social boating gathering where participants anchor and tie together inside the designated Party Cove area throughout the afternoon. Organizers describe the event as a relaxed boating celebration built around lake culture, social gatherings, and responsible boating safety.

As preparations begin for the 2026 event, organizers are once again reminding participants that all local and state boating laws remain fully enforced throughout the weekend by lake patrol and Texas game wardens. Captains are being strongly encouraged to review boating safety regulations ahead of arrival due to the large crowds and heavy vessel traffic expected throughout Party Cove.

According to event organizers and prior safety notices:

  • Boats may not operate above headway speed within 100 feet of swimmers, docks, shorelines, fishermen, boathouses, or other vessels outside designated Party Cove idle areas.
  • Watercraft cannot approach within 100 feet of another vessel at greater than headway speed outside no-wake zones.
  • Reckless operation and excessive speed citations are commonly issued throughout the event weekend.
  • Boats may not tie to official lake markers or buoys, with the exception of approved Party Cove buoy balls.
  • Boats are prohibited from tying off to law enforcement buoys marked “Police.”
  • All vessels must remain properly anchored and secured while unattended.

Safety officials are also expected to continue emphasizing mandatory life jacket requirements for children under 13 aboard vessels under 26 feet while underway, along with requirements for properly functioning horns, fire extinguishers, throwable flotation devices, and current vessel registration documentation.

Event organizers are additionally asking participants to avoid driving boats or personal watercraft through the center swimming area of the cove, which is reserved for swimmers and floating activity only. Participants are encouraged to carry multiple large fenders, ample dock lines, and to raft beside vessels of similar size whenever possible to reduce hull damage caused by wake and wave action.

The Eagle Mountain Tie-Up has become one of the signature boating weekends in the Dallas–Fort Worth boating scene over the years, attracting everything from wake boats and pontoons to performance boats, cruisers, center consoles, and personal watercraft. Many crews arrive early in the morning to secure positions within Party Cove before the main afternoon crowds build throughout the lake.

While organizers have not yet announced an official 2026 theme, the event traditionally takes place on the third Saturday in August and remains one of the most anticipated social boating weekends of the Texas summer season.
