Dakota City River Poker Run

The 2nd Annual River Poker Run is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Dakota City, Nebraska. The event is set to run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CDT and will bring boaters together for a community-run poker run on the river.
All participants must pick up their first card between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the first stop, which is located a little ways downriver from the Dakota City boat ramp. A posted stop map shows the route continuing along the river with multiple marked stops before reaching the fifth and final stop.
Parking will be limited, and organizers note that trailer parking in Dakota City is at a premium. Only trailers are allowed in the designated trailer parking area, and cars parked in trailer parking may be towed. Because space is limited, boat pooling is encouraged.
Participants will cruise the river, visit the marked stops, collect poker cards, and compete for prizes. The first stop and final stop will include banners recognizing event sponsors. Organizers also note that participants do not need to be present to win prizes. If a winner is not present, prizes can be picked up later at Jac’s in Dakota City.
The fifth and final stop will feature a Slip ’N Slide and a DJ, giving the poker run a full summer party finish on the water. Due to possible rain, organizers are encouraging participants to make their way to the final stop sooner rather than later.
Hosted by local community members, the 2nd Annual River Poker Run is not associated with the City of Dakota City. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Dakota City boat ramp, making the day both a river run and a local improvement fundraiser.
