FIREMAN’S POKER RUN
The 35th Annual Fireman's Poker Run is slated for Saturday - June 13, 2026, starting from Boopalu's Bar and Grill.
The event is organized in support of District 2 Volunteer Fire Department, with all proceeds going to the department.
The poker run begins at 10:30 a.m., and participants may start at any stop. The event is open to boats, motorcycles, Jeeps, and cars, giving both water and land participants a chance to take part in the annual fundraiser.
Stops for the 2026 run include Black Lake Club, Blind River Bar, Boopalu’s, Canal Bank, Dicarlo’s, Fuel Dock, Gator’s Den, Kat’s Warsaw, Hilltop, Manny’s, Prop Stop, Riverside Marina, and SunBuns. A rain-out date has been set for June 20, 2026.
Prize money will be awarded to the top five poker hands. The best hand will receive $1,500, followed by $750 for second place, $300 for third, $200 for fourth, and $100 for fifth.
Participants are required to keep all cards sealed in their envelopes. Opening a card envelope before turn-in will result in disqualification. Players must show their official numbered envelope at each stop, and only seven cards may be turned in. Any additional cards will be discarded before the hand is opened. Participants do not have to visit every stop.
Hands may be turned in beginning at 3 p.m., and all hands must be turned in or in line by 7 p.m. The official clock will be located at Boopalu’s near the turn-in table. Organizers note that earlier turn-in is encouraged due to parking.
Entry forms and official envelopes may be picked up during the captain’s party at Canal Bank on Thursday, June 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the captain’s party at Boopalu’s on Friday, June 12, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., or at Boopalu’s on Saturday morning before the run. Hands purchased after June 12 will be $90.
An extra card will be available for purchase for $10 at Boopalu’s on Saturday, June 13, but only if it will serve as the participant’s seventh card. Any official envelope not picked up by noon will be run by District 2 Volunteer Fire Department and posted for the participant.
